Press Release Homicide Investigation 187 2106-6156.

On June 26, 2021, at approximately 0238 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received a 911 telephone call reporting a gunshot wound victim in the 31800 Blk of Neuma Drive, Cathedral City. Police were dispatched to the scene where they located an adult male lying in the roadway. The victim appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cathedral City Fire Department Paramedics. Kidnapping Investigation Update/ #2106-0059

While on scene, officers were given information of a third suspect that was seen by witnesses fleeing. After many hours of in-depth follow-up, Cathedral City Police Detectives were able to identify and locate the third suspect (Genaro Jaime Lozoya) and take him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Cathedral City Police Department and interviewed. Press Release Fatal Traffic Collision 2106-1229

On June 5, 2021, at approximately 1303 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the area of Dinah Shore Drive and Cathedral Canyon Drive regarding a traffic collision involving three vehicles. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male in his vehicle with major injuries. The Cathedral City Fire Department responded to the scene and the male driver succumbed to his injuries. Press Release Kidnapping 2106-0059

On June 1, 2021, at approximately 0924 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received a 911 call from an adult male who claimed to have been beaten, zip tied and held against his will for days. The victim was able to give officers information that led them to the 37000 block of Bankside Drive where evidence was located that cooperated his claim. Additional information was gathered identifying two suspects involved who were later arrested without incident. Continue reading

Press Release 2105-3871

On May 16, 2021, at approximately 1816 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received 911 telephone calls reporting a male intruder entered the residence and threatened the elderly occupants to leave his residence. As the occupants tried to defuse the situation the male intruder became agitated and made threats against their lives. The 85-year-old homeowner retrieved a firearm and defended himself by discharging the firearm, striking the male intruder in the upper body. Continue reading
