Fatal Traffic Collision / Case # 2012C-2636
On December 9, 2020, at approximately 2104 hours, Cathedral City Police officers were dispatched to the area of Ramon Road and Avenida Alvera regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision. Upon arrival, Officers located an adult male lying in the street with major injuries. The Cathedral City Fire Department responded, and the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. At this time, his identity will not be released, pending the Riverside County Coroner’s Office investigation. On December 2, 2020, at approximately 1320 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received 911 telephone calls reporting gunfire heard in the area of Ramon Rd/ Landau Blvd. Police were dispatched and arrived within minutes of the initial call. Homicide Investigation #2011C-6493
On November 23, 2020, at approximately 1851 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the 68800 blk of Ramon Road regarding an assault victim. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male on the sidewalk with major injuries. The Cathedral City Fire Department responded to the scene and provided life saving measures. Homicide Investigation / #2008C-1558
On August 6, 2020, at approximately 2129 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to Century Park (located at 30555 Davall Drive in Cathedral City) regarding a physical altercation with subjects fleeing the area. Upon arrival, officers located an unidentified male victim with life-threatening injuries. CCPD officers immediately started CPR and life-saving efforts until Cathedral City Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. Unfortunately, life-saving efforts were unsuccessful - the unidentified male succumbed to his injuries, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Robbery Investigation – Four juvenile suspects arrested / #2008C-8601
On August 31, 2020, at approx. 1400 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the 31700 block of Date Palm regarding four masked suspects that entered the business and forcefully took display cases with numerous cellular phones attached. Store employees were scared and made no attempt to stop the suspects as they fled the store with merchandise. The suspects ran to a blue newer Mustang with no vehicle license plates that was awaiting near a business. Store employees called the police 911 system and provided the suspect’s vehicle information and direction of travel, North bound on Date Palm toward Vista Chino. Continue reading→
