Cathedral City Police Department Press Release

Press Release 1809C-6269

On Wednesday 9/26/18 at 0715 hours, Cathedral City Police officers were dispatched to the 68000 Block of Hermosillo Rd for a traffic collision involving a single vehicle and two people on a bicycle.  Cathedral City Fire Department paramedics arrived to assist the injured parties involved in the collision and eventually transported two people to an area hospital.  The two transported were an adult mother and her 8-year old son.

Cathedral City Police Department Press Release

Press Release Fatal 1809C-3932

On Sunday 9/16/18 at 1700 hours, Cathedral City Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Date Palm Drive and Gerald Ford Drive regarding a traffic collision. Officers arrived and determined that a traffic collision involving a small sedan and a commercial, flatbed-type tow-truck had just occurred. Upon preliminary investigation, officers determined the sedan was traveling northbound approaching the Gerald Ford intersection and struck the rear of the tow truck. Cathedral City Fire Department paramedics arrived to assist other injured parties involved in the collision. At this time, one fatality has been reported from this collision. The exact details and cause of the collision is still under investigation.

Bike Safety Release 2018

May is Bicycle Safety Month – With the California weather warming up, the Cathedral City Police Department and the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) are highlighting how bicycling is a great way to stay in shape, save money on gas, reduce pollution and when visiting recreational areas, a great way to see the sights. These benefits are nothing new to cyclists and community leaders. Many cities have created bike-friendly routes now complete with bike paths, special bicycle parking areas and special amenities. National Bike Safety Month in May is just one way we celebrate our love to ride.
