On January 24, 2022, at approximately 1811 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the Stater Bros. market parking lot regarding a shooting that just occurred between two vehicles. Officers arrived in the area and located one adult male victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Cathedral City Fire Department Paramedics with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The investigation is currently underway and no additional information will be provided.

DUI Checkpoint Results
On December 18th, 2021, between the hours of 7:00 p.m. – 3:00 a.m. the Cathedral City Police Department conducted a DUI/Driver’s License Checkpoint at Date Palm Drive & Victoria Drive. During the course of the checkpoint, 813 vehicles passed through the location, with 162 drivers screened; 9 citations were issued, and one driver was arrested for driving under the influence.

On December 5, 2021 at approximately 2106 hrs. Cathedral City Police Department received 911 phone calls reference a solo vehicle collision on Date Palm Drive south of Varner Road. Cathedral City Police Officers responded to the scene and discovered a single Dodge Charger had driven off the roadway and rolled over.

On November 07, 2021, at approximately 1939 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the area of East Palm Canyon, east of Cree Road regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle versus a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying in the westbound lanes of East Palm Canyon with major injuries. The Cathedral City Fire Department responded to the scene and provided medical aid. The male pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the parties involved are not being released at this time. No other injuries were reported.

On 10-02-2021, Cathedral City Police Officer’s responded to a single vehicle traffic collision which occurred at the intersection of Dinah Shore and Cathedral Canyon. Officers arrived and found an unidentified 81-year-old male from an unknown city of residence suffering from major injuries. The Cathedral City Fire Department extracted the driver from the vehicle and transported him to Desert Regional Medical Center. The driver later succumbed to his injuries.

On September 4, 2021, at about 2:49 a.m. CCPD Officers and CCFD Fire personnel were dispatched to a structure fire in the 32600 block of Sky Blue Water Trail. CCPD Officers arrived first and found a house on fire that was fully engulfed. One occupant of the home was outside the structure and advised his roommate was still inside the house. Officers jumped a fence in attempt to gain access into the house through a back door but were unable to make entry into the home due to the excessive heat and smoke
