Press Release Up-date for 2103-6123

Officers were given information on two suspects that were seen by witnesses fleeing the scene. Officers were able to locate both suspects (an adult and juvenile) a short distance from the park and detained them without incident. Both were transported to the Cathedral City Police Department and subsequently arrested. The adult was later transported to the Riverside County Jail in Indio and the juvenile was transported to Riverside County Juvenile Hall. Continue reading

Press Release – Attempt Homicide 2103-6123

On March 26, 2021, at approximately 1849 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received 911 telephone calls reporting gunfire heard at The Ocotillo Park, located at 33300 Moreno Road, Cathedral City. Police were dispatched and arrived on scene where they located two victims, an adult female and a male juvenile with gunshot wounds that required medical care.  Cathedral City Police Paramedics arrived to treat the gunshot victims and handled the medical transport. UPDATE – Homicide Investigation / #2102C-5395

Over the last nine days, CCPD Detectives have worked tirelessly to identify and locate those responsible for the senseless shooting death of a father of four with strong local community ties, who was not involved in criminal activity and died in his long-time place of business.  This criminal investigation included a collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, local businesses and critical involvement and cooperation from the local community.  This enabled CCPD detectives to identify the shooter in the homicide and the driver of the vehicle used to flee the area. Homicide Investigation / #2102C-5395

On February 21, 2021, at approximately 2115 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received 911 telephone calls reporting an armed robbery at the location. Additional information was obtained regarding the clerk / owner, an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds to his body. Officers arrived on scene and began emergency life saving measures. Unfortunately, the male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cathedral City Fire Department Paramedics. Continue reading

Shooting Investigation / #2102C-2631

On February 11, 2021, at approximately 0710 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received 911 telephone calls reporting gunfire heard in the area of 67800 block of Carroll Drive. Police were dispatched and arrived within minutes of the initial call. Police located evidence of a shooting and a 38-year-old male suffering from two gunshot wounds. The male was transported by Cathedral City Fire Department to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. Continue reading

Assault with a Deadly Weapon / #2101C-7416

On January 28, 2021, at approximately 1918 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the 33100 block of Shifting Sands Trail regarding a shooting that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound. Cathedral City Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Continue reading

Cathedral City Police Department Press Release

Vehicle Collision / Case #2102C-0968

On February 4, 2021 at 1:10 p.m., CCPD Officers and CCFD Firefighters were dispatched to a collision into a residence in the 32500 block of Monte Vista Road. Numerous callers also reported the vehicle was on fire and the driver was trapped inside. CCPD and CCFD responded immediately and arrived on scene moments later. Upon the arrival of CCPD and CCFD, there was an active fire in the garage and on the truck, which crashed through a garage door and into a residence. CCFD acted immediately by suppressing the fire and rescuing the trapped driver. CCPD shut down the intersection and evacuated the attached and nearby residences. Continue reading
