Synopsis of Incident:
On September 4, 2022, at approximately 0831 hours, Cathedral City Police officers responded to traffic crash involving two vehicles on Ramon Road south of Varner Road. Cathedral City Fire also responded and found the driver of one vehicle succumbed to his injuries.
Based on statements collected, a vehicle traveling northbound on Date Palm Drive crossed over into the south bound lanes. At the time there were two vehicles traveling southbound, the first vehicle was able to maneuver out of the path of the northbound vehicle, the second vehicle did not have enough time to maneuver, and the northbound vehicle crashed head-on into the second southbound vehicle. The driver of the northbound vehicle succumbed to his injuries, the occupants of second southbound vehicle suffered moderate injuries and were transported to the hospital.
