On Saturday December 12, 2015, thirty nine members of the Cathedral City Police Department, including the Chief of Police George Crum, Police Officers, Citizen on Patrol volunteers and Police Explorers, took 38 local children shopping at the Target in Cathedral City. This annual event provides disadvantaged children the chance to shop with local police officers to brighten their holidays. The children are selected based on income and circumstances with the assistance of the local school district. Local businesses and individuals generously donated to this event which wouldn’t have been possible without their assistance.
CCPD Detective Alirio Moulin participated in the event and said, “It’s a great way to enhance the lives of some really great kids. It really makes a difference for them, and us.”
