On Thursday March 9, 2023, at approximately 0700 hours, Cathedral City Detectives executed a search warrant in the 28000 block of Landau Blvd. in the City of Cathedral City. The warrant was regarding a past assault and robbery that occurred at the Cimmaron Golf course and the Desert Princess Community clubhouse. Two juveniles were arrested for the mentioned crimes and transported to Indio Juvenile Hall.

Police arrived and located shell casings in the vicinity of the intersection. A bystander’s car was struck by gunfire. The bystander was not injured. The suspect and victim fled the scene in their cars before police arrived.

On March 3, 2022, at approximately 0145 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received a 911 telephone call of an assault in progress located in the 67500 block of Quijo Rd, Cathedral City. Once Officers arrived on scene, they were able to safely remove two elderly victims from the inside of the residence. Cathedral City Fire Department responded to the scene and transported one of the victims to an area hospital where they are being treated for multiple injuries.

After many hours of in-depth follow-up, Cathedral City Police Detectives were able to identify and locate the third suspect (Genaro Jaime Lozoya) and take him into custody without incident. He was transported to the Cathedral City Police Department and interviewed. As a result of that interview and the totality of the investigation, he was arrested and transported to the Riverside County Jail in Indio and charged

On January 28, 2021, at approximately 1918 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the 33100 block of Shifting Sands Trail regarding a shooting that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with a gunshot wound. Cathedral City Fire Department Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
