On Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at approximately 1635 hours, a Sunline bus was traveling from Palm Desert to Palms Springs. While traveling, the driver noticed a young male passenger smoking something near the rear of the bus. The driver announced over the pa system for the male to stop, but the male refused. At the next scheduled stop in Cathedral City (B Street transfer area), the driver requested the assistance of another driver to help with having the male exit the bus.

Assault with a Deadly Weapon CCPD Case # 2211C-6704
On Monday, November 28, 2022, at approximately 6:54 PM, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received 911 telephone calls reporting gunfire in the area. Dispatch received a 911 call shortly after from a female adult stating her son was shot. The female said she was taking her son to a local hospital, refusing to wait for medics. CCPD Officers responded to the scene of the crime, set up a perimeter and conducted an investigation. A CCPD Officer drove to the hospital and met with the male adult victim as he arrived at the hospital. The victim sustained three non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim provided a preliminary statement before undergoing surgery. This investigation is ongoing.

On November 18, 2022, at approximately 1939 hours, Cathedral City Police officers responded to a report of a person struck by gunfire in the area of Pauline Avenue/Vega Road. Officers arrived and located a male suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the leg and upper shoulder. The victim stated he was riding his bicycle when a brown sedan stopped, and the vehicle’s passenger leaned out the window, fired several rounds at the victim, and fled the area. Officers canvased the area and found several shell casings. The victim was transported to a hospital with two gunshot wounds and was last listed in stable condition.

On May 1, 2022 at approximately 0815 hours, Cathedral City Police responded to Eisenhower Medical Center regarding an assault victim at the location. The investigation revealed the victim was assaulted, taken from his home, and shot by the suspect. Preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim are acquaintances. The victim is at the hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. The police are currently working on confirming the suspect’s identity ad whereabouts.

On March 4, 2022 at about 1:50PM, Cathedral City Police Officers responded to the area of Varner Road, West of Bob Hope Drive regarding a single vehicle rollover. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had overturned and a female driver who had been ejected from the vehicle on the ground. The female was suffering from moderate injuries. Also located in the vehicle, was a 2 YO toddler who was secured in a car seat.

On March 3, 2022, at approximately 0145 hours, Cathedral City Police Dispatch received a 911 telephone call of an assault in progress located in the 67500 block of Quijo Rd, Cathedral City. Once Officers arrived on scene, they were able to safely remove two elderly victims from the inside of the residence. Cathedral City Fire Department responded to the scene and transported one of the victims to an area hospital where they are being treated for multiple injuries.

On January 24, 2022, at approximately 1811 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the Stater Bros. market parking lot regarding a shooting that just occurred between two vehicles. Officers arrived in the area and located one adult male victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Cathedral City Fire Department Paramedics with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The investigation is currently underway and no additional information will be provided.

On August 24, 2021, at approx. 1834 hours, Cathedral City Police Department (CCPD) officers were dispatched to the area of Date Palm and Dinah Shore regarding a victim that was assaulted with a firearm.
Officers located the suspect vehicle and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle came to a stop on Canyon Vista s/of Ramon Road and three juveniles ran from the vehicle. The driver was immediately detained and a short time later a second suspect was located. A perimeter was established and after a lengthy search the third suspect was not located.
