Homicide Investigation – Case 2203C-6060 update

On March 24, 2022, at approximately 1644 hours, Daniel Morales Jr. 29 YO, resident of Cathedral City, was arrested in connection with the murder of Juan Gonzalez. Morales was arraigned on Monday, March 28, 2022, on charges of Murder, Street gang-violent felony, Discharge of firearm from a vehicle, Association w/criminal street gang, Discharge of firearm causing great bodily injury. He is currently being held on $2,000,000 bail at the Riverside County Southwest Detention Center. Continue reading

Cathedral City Police Department Press Release

Overdose – Case #2203C-0839

On March 4, 2022, at about 6:21 a.m. CCFD received a call of a male laying on the ground next to a vehicle, unknown if they were breathing. CCFD arrived and located the male subject laying in the parking lot in medical distress. CCFD then located a second male inside a vehicle, also in medical distress. Both males displayed symptoms of opioid overdose. CCFD then located a third male at the top of a staircase landing, near the first two males, deceased. The first two males were transported to a local area hospital and are expected to survive. Continue reading

Traffic Collision / Assault with a Deadly Weapon

On March 4, 2022 at about 1:50PM, Cathedral City Police Officers responded to the area of Varner Road, West of Bob Hope Drive regarding a single vehicle rollover. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had overturned and a female driver who had been ejected from the vehicle on the ground. The female was suffering from moderate injuries.
